Sara Barrick, MS, LMFT, SEP
I am passionate about helping people uncover and heal the root causes of their symptoms, enabling them to live authentically and fully in the present moment.
I am trained in several therapy modalities that facilitate healing at the root level, including Somatic Experiencing, Coherence Therapy, Internal Family Systems and Brainspotting.
I have witnessed the transformative power of these modalities, both professionally and personally. My personal healing work and dedication to my own wellness allows me to hold the type of attuned space that’s also necessary for healing to take place. My client’s often report increased self-compassion, clarity, authenticity, and agency in their lives as a result of our work together.
My ideal client is someone who is motivated to engage in the work of healing both during and outside of sessions. I also welcome clients to bring their spirituality into the therapy space, if it interests them.
Having lived with misophonia for 25 years and now being free of it since 2018, I especially enjoy helping adults identify the underlying causes of their misophonia and supporting them in their path towards freedom.
I strive to be a culturally humble therapist. I am an LGBTQIA+ ally.
I’m the proud parent of two boys, ages 15 and 12. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, as well as time alone. My hobbies include listening to podcasts, reading, gardening, organizing, and playing the piano.
